Harambee is a Swahili word that translates to “working or pulling together.” We see sports as an engaging and challenging experience that must support youth with positive role models and provide them with opportunities to create connections with each other and their communities. Camp Harambee 2022 


Camp Harambee was an FREE three-day soccer training for high school girls and boys that took place July 19-21, 2022.


The Harambee Community Celebration on Tuesday, July 19 featured training sessions by MNUFC Youth Academy and Aurora FC Coaches, food, music and activities. ALL high school players, family & friends were invited.


Camp Harambee sessions on Wednesday & Thursday, July 20-21, were open to all but high school-aged boys and girls who identify as youth of color were strongly encouraged to attend. Soccer trainings were led by experienced local, varsity coaches from the Twin Cities.

Harambee online auction

Harambee's first fundraising auction ended June 30th.


Harambee Sports Club offers all of its programming on a sliding fee scale and offers many programs that are completely free. Harambee Sports Club currently operates on fees collected and individual donations.

Join Harambee Stars Outdoor soccer team


Harambee Sports Club is excited to field the Harambee Stars outdoor team as part of the Futsal Society 11v11 Summer 2022 League. Weekly league play Thursday and Fridays, June - August 2022. Open to high school players grades 9-12.

Aurora FC Opener


Harambee Sports Club is pleased to be a part of Aurora FC's home opener! Minnesota Aurora begins play in the USL W League in May 2022. The team is women-led and community-owned.

Harambee has some super excited Player Pals who will accompany players from both teams to the center of the field and participate in the opening ceremony! Harambee Sports Club is honored to be able to celebrate community and our love of soccer with Aurora FC.

Houseplants for youth

Share your houseplants with young people! Harambee Sports Club has an ongoing community engagement and wellbeing project collecting houseplant cuttings from friends and neighbors. Plant cuttings will be propagated, potted and distributed to teens participating in our programming.  Learn more.


Harambee Futsal open Tournament

Harambee Sports Club partnered with Minneapolis Park & Recreation, City of Minneapolis Office of Violence Prevention and MN Futsal to provide a FREE two-day competitive futsal tournament for high school-aged players.

Spring Tune-up Fitness Program


Harambee's FREE four-week program program designed to prepare athletes for summer soccer. We will have a variety of strength, agility and conditioning exercises for high school-aged players.

Harambee Free Play Futsal Returns in the Fall! 

Come with your friends or meet new ones!


NO Cost and open to all middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) aged players.


Join us for pick up futsal in the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis (accessible from both Minneapolis and St. Paul).

Harambee Sports Club provides balls, goals, pennies, supervision and music.


Players should have clean/dry indoor or gym shoes and masks must be worn at all times! No exceptions.

FC Intl Participates in Nationals!

Harambee's U19 Boys team FC International participated in the US Youth Futsal Championships in Kansas City, July 9-12, 2021.
