Building Community.
  Transforming Youth.

Harambee Sports Club is a new initiative that seeks to support diversity, equity and cultural humility in youth sports. Harambee is a Swahili word that translates to “working or pulling together.” We see sports as an engaging and challenging experience that must support youth with positive role models and provide them with opportunities to create connections with each other and their communities. We invite like-minded families to join us on this journey.

Camp Harambee celebrates the Diversity of Twin Cities Soccer

Camp Harambee was a free three-day soccer training for youth of color that took place July 19-21, 2021.

We are grateful to partners MN United Youth Academy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, Hiawatha Collegiate High School, Like a Girl, Augsburg University and studio in/visible for their support in this celebration of the diversity of the Twin Cities soccer community.

Camp Harambee looks forward to returning in 2022 to offer high school-aged boys and girls of color fun, high-level trainings and receive support from experienced coaches in the metro area. Camp Harambee will also provide a chance for young coaches of color (ages 19-25) to volunteer, be mentored and support their younger peers.
