What is Camp Harambee?
A free three-day soccer camp and clinic designed to celebrate the diversity of the Twin Cities soccer community.

 

When is it? 

  • July 19 -21, 2022 | Tuesday, July 19 is Community Clinic and Celebration with MNUFC & Aurora FC.

Who should attend?

  • All players, family & friends are welcome to Harambee Community Celebration, Tuesday, July 19. MNUFC & Aurora FC Trainings morning and afternoon. Food & games 11-1pm. 

  • High-school aged players who identify as People of Color for soccer skills training Wednesday & Thursday.

  • Young Coaches of Color (ages 19-25) interested in learning and making new connections.

 Celebrate the Diversity of Twin Cities Soccer 

 

Camp Harambee is a free three-day soccer training designed to celebrate the diversity of the Twin Cities soccer community. High school-aged boys and girls will participate in fun, high-level trainings and receive support from experienced coaches in the metro area. The camp also provides a chance for young coaches of color (ages 19-25) to volunteer, be mentored and support their younger peers.

 

Tuesday, July 19  |  Harambee Community Celebration Day

All players, family and friends are welcome! Coaches and players from Minnesota United Football Club (MNUFC) Youth Academy and Aurora FC MN will each offer a community soccer clinic with high-level training experience for high school-aged participants during our Community Celebration Day on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The Community Celebration Day is a neighborhood-wide celebration with food trucks, live DJ, community art, and interactive games and give aways. Player registration is required to participate in the free trainings. 

Tuesday Schedule:

8:00 - 9:00am | Registration and Welcome

9:00 - 11:00am | MNUFC Training

11:00 - 1:00pm | Food, Music & Games

1:00 - 4:00pm | Aurora FC Training

Wednesday & Thursday, July 20 - 21  |  Camp Harambee Soccer Camp

Camp Harambee sessions on Wednesday & Thursday are open to ALL players but we are encouraging the participation of youth identifying as people of color. 

Wednesday & Thursday Schedule:

9:00 - 12:00pm | Soccer Camp for Boys

12:00 - 1:00pm | Free time & Social

1:00 - 4:00pm  | Soccer Camp for Girls

Camp Harambee is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield and MNUFC in partnership with Aurora FC and Hiawatha Academies.

Camp Harambee Details:

  • FREE 3-day soccer skills and development camp July 19-21, 2022

  • High school-aged aged players who identify as People of Color

  • Tuesday, July 21 Camp Harambee Community Celebration Day with free food, music, community art, games and give aways.

  • Participants will receive ball, shirts, gear and other gifts while supplies last.

  • Youth Development Academy (YDA) clinic with MNUFC Academy (Tuesday, July 19, 9-11am); Meet and greet MNUFC Academy Coaches, MNUFC2 Players and team mascot PK

  • Aurora FC Training Session with Aurora Assistant Coach Jen Larrick, Co-Founder & Board member Andrea Carroll-Frank and Aurora FC Players (Tuesday, July 19, 1-4pm)

  • Boys camp 9-12pm | Girls camp 1-4pm on Wednesday and Thursday with local professional coaches

  • Natural grass field at Hiawatha Academies High School, 3500 E 28th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406 (accessible via Greenway & Twin Cities Metro Transit)

  • Opportunity for emerging young coaches of color to participate and receive mentoring from senior coaches
